West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village
Reconstructed on an original Anglo-Saxon site, West Stow Anglo-
Saxon Village is set in 125 acres of country park and features a
visitors’ centre, café and shop. It also plays host to regular visits by
Anglo-Saxon and Viking re-enactment groups who bring the past
vividly to life.

Grimes Graves
A grassy lunar landscape of over 400 shafts, pits, quarries and spoil
dumps, set in the distinctive Breckland heath landscape, and the only
Neolithic flint mine open to visitors in Britain. Today visitors can
descend 9 metres (30 ft) by ladder into an excavated shaft and
explore the site’s history in the small exhibition area.

Elveden Estate and Farms
The beautiful surroundings of this historic estate – home to the Earls
of Iveagh – provide the setting for a range of shops selling fresh local
produce, wines, cookware, gifts and plants, as well as a café
restaurant and 4 mile horse course with 40+ jumps.

Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey
This family-friendly historical site provides the opportunity to explore
Cambridgeshire’s rural past via museum artefacts and interactive displays,
with a 17th century stone barn, workshops and a traditional Fenman’s
cottage. The Abbey features superb Norman interiors and offers displays
and children’s activities.

Bressingham Steam Museum
Home to the restored Royal Scot steam locomotive, Bressingham offers the
opportunity to ride on no fewer than four railways, taking you round its
magnificent gardens and woodland. The museum also features a Victorian
steam carousel and houses the National Dad’s Army Collection, featuring
props and vehicles from the classic comedy series.

Ickworth House, Park and Gardens
This landscaped, historic estate has as its centrepiece the magnificently
eccentric Georgian house with its dramatic Rotunda, which houses the Earl
of Bristol’s art collection and includes works by Titian and Gainsborough, as
well as a fine collection of Georgian silver.
